Mimoun Berrissoun is the Executive Director of 180° Wende, a renowned NGO in the field of prevention and empowerment. Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan appointed him as a Young Leader of his foundation. The European Commission designated Mimoun as a steering committee member of the European Union's Radicalisation Awareness Network. A dedicated senior project manager, Mimoun has served as a consultant, trainer, and expert for various international organizations and institutions, such as the United Nations, the Kofi Annan Foundation, the Club de Madrid, and others. Mimoun's research focuses on the complex dynamics of development, migration, and transnationalism. His PhD work delves into the intricate mechanisms and decision-making processes that drive self-organization among second-generation migrants and their communities in their sustainable development practices beyond transnational borders. Mimoun holds a double master's degree in Public Policy and Human Development with cum laude distinction from the United Nations University (UNU-MERIT) and Maastricht University, and an undergraduate degree in Social Sciences from the University of Cologne.
