Julie Kamau is a dual-career PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University.
She has a passion for promoting equality and financial inclusion in developing countries. She has experience with designing and delivering research studies on financial inclusion in several developing countries. She has a background in gender-responsive programming and the implementation of gender strategies both at the UNCDF's Migration and Remittances program and the Dutch Development Bank (FMO). She is a proficient facilitator in providing capacity-building and technical support to the public and private sector. Julie holds an MSc in Economics and Governance from Leiden University (the Netherlands). She also holds a BSc in Global Management of Social Issues from Tilburg University (the Netherlands) and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (Kenya).
