Introduction

Agentic AI systems are increasingly used in high-stakes sectors, including health, education and finance. This interactive webinar introduces Kita AI, a UNU-developed Agentic AI system for member states, designed to augment rather than displace human decision-making for sustainable development.

Through guided activities, participants will explore a policy scenario using Kita AI and take part in an inclusive policy debate among representative stakeholders. The debate draws on transparent sources and a diverse set of indicators, including the SDGs.

The session invites reflection on how AI can strengthen human agency. It shows how public civil servants and UN staff can use such a system to consider the interests of minority groups, assess policy options across multiple indicators, and explain the sources and reasoning behind their decisions.

Participants will gain first-hand experience of an emerging Agentic AI system and a deeper understanding of its opportunities and limitations for public-sector decision-making.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  1. Use an Agentic AI system and understand how it can augment, rather than displace, their capabilities as policymakers and civil servants.
  2. Use Kita AI to represent legitimate stakeholders in decision-making, consider a diversity of indicators (including the SDGs), and explain the data sources and the transparent argumentation process.
  3. Evaluate the strengths and limitations of Kita AI for addressing work-related tasks and challenges.
  4. Identify practical applications of Kita AI in their own professional context and share key insights with peers.
