Lin LIN is the Training and Education Officer at the United Nations University Institute in Macau (UNU Macau), where she leads the design, development, delivery and evaluation of the Institute’s capacity development programmes. She is also responsible for the Institute’s contributions to degree programmes developed with UNU hub universities, working closely with partner universities on curriculum design and joint programme development.
She brings over nine years of experience in international education, specialising in cross-border academic partnerships and transnational programme delivery across China, the UK, and the broader international landscape. Her expertise spans two core areas: end-to-end programme leadership, covering learning design, delivery, and evaluation; and collaboration model design and academic quality assurance at the degree level, with strategic partnership management underpinning her work across both.
Her research interests include capacity development impact, educational technology, open and distance education (ODE), and comparative studies in education. She is a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Educational Technology, The Open University (UK), contributing to scholarship projects that measure the long-term impact of capacity development programmes in ODE communities. She also serves on the Expert Panel for the Research and Practice Project on Qualification Framework Alignment between Guangdong and Hong Kong, contributing policy insight on qualification benchmarking and programme validation and accreditation in the Greater Bay Area.
Her work is directly oriented toward SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), with a particular focus on how multi-stakeholder partnerships can scale capacity development and degree-level academic collaboration to underserved communities.
Lin holds an MSc by Research from the University of Edinburgh, an MA from the University of Warwick, and a Bachelor of Law from Renmin University of China. She works in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
