Professor Martyn Clark is a leading researcher in the development of large-domain terrestrial systems models, which are used in a wide range of applications including environmental forecasting, climate impact assessments, and Earth system prediction. 

He serves as the Executive Co-Director, UNU Hub on Empowering Communities to Adapt to Environmental Change at the University of Calgary, where he co-leads the coordination of the Hub activities and advances research on environmental prediction to address emerging water security threats. In this capacity, he also leads the research cluster on Environmental Predictions for Water Sustainability.  

He has authored and co-authored over 250 journal articles and was elected a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union in 2016. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of Water Resources Research from 2017 to 2020. Prof. Clark is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary, and a Schulich Research Chair in Environmental Predictions for Water Security.
