Jan Franklin Adamowski

Adjunct Professor, Water Resources Modelling and Management

Prof. Jan Franklin Adamowski’s research focuses on integrated water resources management, participatory human-water systems modeling, artificial intelligence applications in hydrology, and water and food security. 

At UNU-INWEH, Prof. Adamowski contributes to research in water resources modelling and management, including work connected to hydrological forecasting, decision-support tools, climate-related water challenges, and the planning and management of water systems.

Prof. Adamowski is also a Professor in the Department of Bioresource Engineering in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at McGill University where he is a James McGill Professor and the Liliane and David M. Stewart Scholar in Water Resources. He serves as the Director of the Integrated Water Resources Management Program and Associate Director of the Brace Water Centre at McGill.  

Prof. Adamowski earned his PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Warsaw Technical University and a Master of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering for Sustainable Development from Cambridge University.
