UNU-IAS will co-organize a side event of the 2025 UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) held on 14–23 July 2025 in New York. The in-person session will discuss how ocean plastic contamination is affecting human health and well-being, and explore strategies to address these interlinkages. It will identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships and multi-disciplinary research and education to shift mindsets towards a more holistic view and deepen understanding of the interconnectedness of SDG 3 (good health & well-being) and SDG 14 (life below water).
