Video Showcases Innovative Education Projects for Biodiversity

A new UNU-IAS video highlights 135 education projects focused on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration.

A new UNU-IAS video highlights innovative education projects focused on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration. The projects were implemented by the global network of Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) during 2015–2019.

The video features projects from the recent publication Engaging Communities for Biodiversity Conservation: Education for Sustainable Development Projects from the Global RCE Network. It provides a comprehensive overview of the projects’ themes, institutions, target audiences, and environments, detailing actions taken to address threats to regional biodiversity and the impacts on local communities.

A total of 135 RCE projects across 30 countries focused on SDG 14 (life below water) or SDG 15 (life on land), while addressing SDG 4 (quality education) and other goals. The projects were implemented as part of the Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

The video is available on the UNU-IAS YouTube channel.
