UNU-IAS Highlighted in UN Today Cover Feature

The September issue of the UN staff magazine focuses on the 50th anniversary of UNU.

The September 2025 issue of UN Today focuses on UNU, marking the university’s 50th anniversary. A special feature article outlines the evolution of UNU over the years, highlighting the contributions of UNU-IAS to promoting the sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity.  

Excerpt:    

In 2010, the UNU Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS, now the UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability) and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, initiated the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative. This is an alliance that has grown to include hundreds of organizations dedicated to realizing societies in harmony with nature.

UN Today is a monthly magazine reporting on matters relevant to international civil servants, published by the Staff Coordinating Council of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).
