Nippon TV Showcases Regional Dialogue on National Biodiversity Strategies

The science education programme "Tokoro-san no Megaten" featured a UNU-IAS co-hosted event on biodiversity conservation efforts in South and East Asia

On 10 March 2024, "Tokoro-san no Megaten!", a science education programme on Nippon TV, featured biodiversity conservation and restoration efforts highlighted at the Regional Dialogue on National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) for South and East Asia. The event was organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and co-hosted by UNU-IAS and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.  

The episode featured UNU-IAS expert Suneetha Subramanian (Research Fellow) in conversation with a Japanese comedian, Kenichi Abe, on how to raise public awareness of biodiversity issues.
