To celebrate World Environment Day, UNU-IAS will co-organize the ProSPER.Net Sustainability Forum under the theme "EcoSmart Universities: Pioneering Sustainability for Future Generations". The event will focus on how higher education institutions (HEIs) can serve as key drivers of change by embedding sustainability into their operations, curricula and research. The forum will explore practical strategies to make HEIs more resilient and environmentally responsible. The forum will feature speakers from UNU-IAS and ProSPER.Net member universities.

Background

ProSPER.Net is an alliance of higher education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region working to integrate sustainable development into curriculums and research, for which UNU-IAS serves as the secretariat. The work of the network has supported the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs through the Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (2015-2019), and the ESD for 2030 framework (2020-2030).
