This workshop is designed for researchers and practitioners who wish to enhance their expertise in applying case studies within the context of Nexus research. The aim is to advance technical and policy-oriented research skills related to Nexus topics. Participants will gain valuable insights and practical guidelines for effectively integrating Nexus approaches into their case studies, strengthening their research's impact and rigour

Main Topics and Objectives

  1. Selection of Case Studies - the workshop will explore methodologies for selecting and designing case studies pertinent to Nexus research on different environmental resources, including water, energy, food, climate, ecosystems, soil, material, and space.

  2. Data Integration: Address the complexities of accessing and integrating data from diverse sources to enhance the robustness of research outcomes.

  3. Stakeholder Involvement: Discuss criteria for the selection and commitment of stakeholders to ensure meaningful and impactful research collaborations.

  4. Practical Tools for Your Research: The workshop will evaluate the use of practical tools and knowledge derived from real-world applications to strengthen case study research. This hands-on approach will empower participants to apply these tools in their research, enhancing the impact and rigour of their work. By the end of the workshop, you will have a set of practical tools that you can immediately apply to your Nexus research.

Why Attend?

The workshop will cover a range of Nexus approaches, including the water-energy-food (WEF) Nexus and Resource Nexus. Participants will not just passively listen but also actively engage in discussions and activities focusing on the replicability, reproducibility, and scalability of Nexus research. The comprehensive overview will guide and refine future case study research within the Nexus framework, ensuring participants leave with a thorough understanding and clear direction for future work.
