Yauheniya is an Associate Academic Officer working for the “Well-being, Indigenous Knowledge, Sustainability and Equity (WISE)” Transformation Initiative.
Yauheniya holds a PhD in Applied and Development Economics from the Center for Development Research (ZEF), the University of Bonn, Germany, where she explored the economics of consumer and business behaviour related to the environment. For conducting her doctoral research, she has been awarded a scholarship by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Prior to that, she has a Master’s Degree in Economics and National Economy Management from the Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk, Belarus. She also holds a Diploma in Marketing awarded by the Belarusian State Economic University, Minsk, Belarus, and a Diploma in Intercultural Communication from the Minsk State Linguistic University, Belarus.
Prior to joining UNU-EHS, Yauheniya was employed as a researcher in the impact analysis team at WifOR Institute in Berlin, Germany, where she utilized an environmentally-extended input-output model to assess impacts for companies arising throughout their operations and supply chain. She also worked in the Green Economy project at the BEROC Economic Research Center (Minsk, Belarus; and later Vilnius, Lithuania) where she conducted research on circular economy, climate policies and climate risk perception of the population. Additionally, she served as a scientific coordinator of the online project “School on the green economy for journalists” organized by BEROC and was also engaged in delivering lectures on the topics of green economy and environmental sustainability to journalists, entrepreneurs and economic students. Besides that, Yauheniya worked for a number of years at the Institute of Power Engineering at the Academy of Science of Belarus, focusing on research areas such as energy security, electricity markets, and emissions of the energy facilities. Her current research interests encompass the topics of well-being and subjective well-being and innovative data applications.
