Uzabi is a researcher specializing in Environment Management and Integrated Water Resources Management. She is working as a researcher with the Climate Risk Analytics team of the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII). She specializes in water resources management, climate adaptations, disaster risk financing and nature-based solutions.
Uzabi is originally from Nepal. She studied Environment Management at the School of Environmental Science and Management, Pokhara University, Nepal. Continuing her education, she completed her Master´s degree in Integrated Water Resources Management from Technische Hochschule Köln (University of Applied Sciences). She comes with diverse experience, having served I/NGOs and private sectors. Prior to joining UNU, Uzabi worked in various fields in Nepal and Senegal, focusing on climate adaptation, urban resilience, environmental impact assessment and disaster risk management.
She is passionate about working collaboratively with public and private sectors to develop and implement projects, including water management, carbon-neutral solutions, sustainability, biodiversity conservation and climate change in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
