UNU-EGOV Participates in ISSA Webinar on Service Usability and Digital Inclusion

We join ISSA's webinar on Nov 14, highlighting usability in social security services to foster digital inclusion and improve user-centered design.

On November 14, 2024,  UNU-EGOV will contribute to an upcoming webinar organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) titled “Leveraging Usability in Service Delivery – Beyond Access.” This event, aimed at more than 100 social security professionals, will focus on the critical role of usability and digital accessibility in enhancing online service delivery.

The ISSA & UNU-EGOV partnership underscores a commitment to advancing service design that ensures ease of use and promotes digital inclusion. This joint webinar is a continuation of these collaborative efforts, emphasizing essential themes in service delivery for social security sectors globally.

Key Topics and Insights

During the session, UNU-EGOV expert Morten Meyerhoff Neilsen will address aspects of intuitive and user-centric service design. Key takeaways from his presentation will include:

  • Effective service design transcends visual elements, encompassing the entire user journey, including language, format, functionality, and accessibility.
  • Usability and accessible design principles make online services more intuitive, thereby fostering increased user engagement.
  • Accessibility benefits everyone, not just individuals with disabilities, by enhancing digital inclusion overall.
  • Service design should be an ongoing process, integrating continuous improvements for better user experiences.

Scheduled for 10:00–11:30 (UTC/GMT+1, CET), this webinar will provide invaluable insights into how thoughtful, accessible service design contributes to better service delivery and increased online engagement.
