Delfina Soares, Director of the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV), is participating in the III Interministerial Meeting on Electronic Governance of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), taking place on 25 March 2025 at the CPLP headquarters in Lisbon.
Ahead of the ministerial meeting, Delfina Soares took part in the preparatory technical meeting of focal points held on 24 March. During the session, she contributed with a brief intervention focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, accessibility, digital identity and authentication. The meeting gathered representatives from the CPLP member-states and featured the participation of various government officials, including Portugal’s Minister for Youth and Modernisation, Margarida Balseiro Lopes.
Held under the theme “Youth Innovation for a Better Planet: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation for Sustainability and Inclusion”, this meeting gathered together ministers and high-level representatives to assess ongoing efforts in digital governance, adopt the new 2025–2027 Action Plan and approve the final declaration of the meeting.
UNU-EGOV’s presence reinforces its commitment to advancing multilateral cooperation and supporting not only the CPLP but also its member-states in applying digital technologies to build effective, inclusive and accountable governance systems. The unit remains actively engaged in promoting knowledge exchange, capacity development and policy innovation across the Lusophone space.
