UNU-EGOV at ITAIS 2025 Conference in Italy

Demetrios Sarantis presented UNU-EGOV’s research on assessment-driven urban innovation.

The United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) participated in the 22nd Conference of the Italian Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (ITAIS 2025), held from 17 to 18 October 2025 at LIUC – Cattaneo University in Castellanza (VA), Italy. 

Invited by the host university, Demetrios Sarantis, Senior Research Analyst at UNU-EGOV, presented a paper titled “Smart, Responsive, Inclusive: Assessment-Driven Urban Innovation in the Digital Era”. His presentation explored how evidence-based assessment frameworks can support cities in becoming more intelligent, responsive, and inclusive through data-driven innovation and digital governance. 

Participation in ITAIS 2025 offered a relevant opportunity to showcase UNU-EGOV’s ongoing research in local e-Government assessment, urban governance, and smart city innovation, reinforcing the Unit’s engagement with the international academic community and its contribution to advancing inclusive, human-centred approaches to urban digitalization.
