Till Brüggemann is a Research Intern at UNU-CRIS within the Nature, Climate and Health Cluster under the supervision of Nidhi Nagabhatla.
He is currently studying for an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's degree in Cyberspace, Behaviour and E-Therapy at Universidade Lusófona (Lisbon), the University of Barcelona and Université Paris Cité. He previously completed his Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Germany, where his studies focused on social, health, and environmental psychology. His academic interests lie at the intersection of mental health, digital innovation, and sustainable transformation, with a particular attention to the psychological consequences of the climate crisis.
Alongside his studies, Till has worked as a Student Research Assistant at the Department of Business and Social Psychology at Leuphana University, contributing to research in climate psychology, virtual reality, and experimental methods. He also has a professional background as a motion graphics and web designer, collaborating with clients and institutions such as the City of Vienna and the UNESCO Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Development.
During his internship at UNU-CRIS, Till will primarily work on the development of an AI chatbot system designed to deliver Psychological First Aid (PFA) to adult climate disaster survivors, in collaboration with the CliMent COST Action. The project researches how a safety-compliant local AI model can help provide psychological support in contexts where communication infrastructure is limited or disrupted. The prototype developed in this context will contribute to the design and feasibility assessment of safe AI approaches in the context of climate change.
