Michael Hasmujaj is a research intern at UNU-CRIS within the Nature, Climate and Health Cluster under the supervision of Nidhi Nagabhatla.
He recently completed a BSc in Psychology at Northumbria University, United Kingdom, where his academic work has psychological factors predicting AI use.
During his virtual research internship, Michael will investigate information voids in the Global South as they relate to climate change and disaster risk communication. His work will examine how gaps in accessible, relevant, and timely information shape public understanding of and response to climate-related hazards. Drawing on psychological frameworks of risk perception and information behaviour, he aims to contribute to a more nuanced understanding of how knowledge deficits intersect with structural inequalities in disaster preparedness and response. His research seeks to inform more inclusive and contextually grounded approaches to climate communication policy across the Global South.
