Afnan Agramont is a Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS

Afnan Agramont is a Bolivian Postdoctoral Researcher at UNU-CRIS, working within the Nature, Climate and Health Cluster and the Surface Water Group at the Department of Water and Climate of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Through a one-year UNU-CRIS seed funding fellowship, Afnan aims to strengthen VUB and UNU-CRIS collaboration, developing new projects on Citizen Science and participatory climate adaptation. Afnan’s research focuses on participatory governance, climate adaptation, citizen science and water resources planning across different scales, from rural communities to urban settings, and from catchments to regional levels. He enjoys working in interdisciplinary environments, recognizing that sustainability requires the integration of diverse knowledge systems and the connection of actors and institutions to achieve tangible socio-environmental impact. He is motivated by the goal of fostering equitable and sustainable practices that empower communities and advance socio-environmental justice.
