This event at the Resilience Hub of the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP30) will explore how co-designed, nature-positive infrastructure can align climate, biodiversity and equity goals. Bringing together engineers, planners, community leaders and ecologists, it will highlight how nature-based solutions (NbS) can reduce costs, protect lives and unlock economic opportunity.
Drawing on examples such as living shorelines, stormwater management systems and standards-based coastal planning, the session will discuss how to design and deliver a built environment that actively protects, restores and enhances natural systems, while improving resilience and creating measurable benefits for communities and economies. Participants will engage in a fishbowl dialogue, sharing lived experiences, testing approaches and reflecting on how to embed standards, digital tools and community knowledge into resilient infrastructure.
