This learning material was developed through a joint collaboration between the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI), UNU-IAS and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to explore the potential of socio-ecological landscapes and seascapes (SEPLS) to be recognized and reported as other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs).

Building on the Site-level tool for identifying other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs) and Guidance on other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs), it applies a capacity development and shared learning approach to strengthen understanding of OECMs.
