About the programme
UNDSDP Youth Scholar Training Camp is a programme for young scholars either currently enrolled in Higher Education Institutions or in early career research positions. The programme aims to cultivate young people's strategic vision and leadership potential, to develop their research skills and knowledge of digital technology to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), provide interaction opportunities within the United Nations, support professional career development, expand global competencies, and prepare for working within international organizations.
The European Training Camp is held in 2 UNU institutes, UNU-MERIT and UNU-EHS. Within UNU-MERIT, the Training Camp is hosted by the Capacity Development Office (CDO).
Structure of the programme
The programme will focus on policy relevant research at the intersection of digital technologies and the SDGs. At the end of the programme, participants are expected to:
· Enrich their understanding of the importance of AI and associated risks and opportunities of AI.
· Experience working in a team and co-create solutions for global pressing issues,
· Complete a group work with the guidance of the UNU researchers and experts .

- AI for Disaster Risk Reduction

- AI and its applications in remote sensing satellite data
- Economics of Climate Adaptation (ECA) and Climada
Admission requirements
The students will be selected according to the registration information. Interdisciplinary student teams and individuals from all countries of all majors and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Be interested in international topics related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Be interested in research, further study or work in international organizations.
Prefer master’s degree student or PhD student. Undergraduate students with good understanding of reasearch will be welcomed as well.
Be able to study and communicate in English.
