MMCD: Enhancing Migration Management through Capacity Development is a 34-month capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen migration governance by equipping government officials and civil servants with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to address today’s complex migration challenges.
Building on the success and lessons of previous EU co-funded initiatives under the Migration Partnership Facility of ICMPD (International Centre for Migration Policy Development), MMCD aims to support more effective, coherent, and sustainable migration policies and systems across the globe. This objective will be achieved with a set of trainings, peer exchange, and creation of long-term professional networks.
MMCD will train 170 government officials and civil servants working in migration management from partner countries across:
· Africa
· Central Asia
· EU Southern Neighbourhood
· Silk Route Countries
· South Asia
The project also engages a wider alumni and practitioner network of approximately 300 migration professionals worldwide.
