On 11th April Dr. Sanae Okamoto will represent UNU-MERIT at the 2025 United Nations Behavioural Science Week.

Dr. Okamoto will participate in the session "Rights, Sustainability, and Nutrition", which showcases how behavioural science is being applied across the UN to advance human rights, support climate action, and improve nutrition outcomes.

Bringing together UN case studies, this discussion will explore how Behavioural Science is shaping policies, influencing behaviours, and tackling complex global challenges. Speakers will share practical insights on using behavioural science to promote rights realisation, strengthen climate resilience, and drive healthier food systems. The session will highlight key successes, ongoing challenges, and lessons learned, offering valuable takeaways for those looking to integrate behavioural insights into their work.

Dr. Okamoto will share insights on Climate Change Impacts on Mental Health: Empowering Opportunities by Leveraging Behavioural and Psychological Insights.

The event takes place online. The United Nations Behavioural Science Week is free of charge and open to all and has in the past attracted attendance and attention from thousands of UN colleagues as well as representatives from governments, academia, civil society, NGOs and the private sector.
