Inès Abbaouy is a Project Coordinator in the Capacity Development Office (CDO) at United Nations University–MERIT and Maastricht University.
She oversees projects within the MMCD (Enhancing Migration Management through Capacity Development) initiative, supporting the coordination of both residential and online training and learning activities.
She holds a Master in Translation/Interpretation and Intercultural Communication. Before joining UNU-MERIT, she worked for four years at the public employment service in Wallonia (Belgium) as an International Relations Expert. In this role, she mainly coordinated benchlearning activities with European public services, the European Commission, and international organisations such as the OECD, ILO, and WAPES. She also provided linguistic support across the organisation and contributed to the preparation and hosting of international delegations.
