PhD fellow

Sneha Marydas is a PhD Fellow at UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University School of Business and Economics.

Sneha’s research examines how digital transformation is reshaping firms, labour markets, and innovation in emerging economies, with a particular focus on India. She studies how artificial intelligence and other digital technologies influence skill demand within firms, the link between technology adoption and high-growth firms, and the role of workplace democracy in driving innovation and organizational change. Using both quantitative and qualitative methods, she explores the broader implications of technological change for firms, workers, and development. Beyond her research, Sneha is engaged in academic and collaborative activities. She has served as a coordinator for the UNU-MERIT Seminar Series, contributed to teaching across programmes at Maastricht University, and participated in research projects in India focused on development and innovation.

She holds a double Master’s degree: a Master’s in Commerce (Finance) from University of Calicut (2020) and a Master’s in Economics and Management from University of Ferrara (2022).
