Abdoul-Aziz Adama is a Ph.D. Fellow at UNU-MERIT, Maastricht University, and a Policy Manager at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA). He holds a Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, and Statistics from the African School of Economics.
Abdoul-Aziz is passionate about strengthening public policies through the use of evidence. Since 2022, he has led a portfolio of partnerships with public institutions in Côte d'Ivoire, including the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth, to promote evidence-informed policymaking and improve the effectiveness of public programs.
From 2019 to 2021, he worked with the World Bank's Development Impact (DIME) group in Niger, where he managed a portfolio of projects focused on social protection, resilience, and forcibly displaced populations. Prior to joining the World Bank, he served as a Monitoring and Evaluation Associate with IPA Côte d'Ivoire, supporting government advisory services, and as a Research Associate with IPA Mali, where he contributed to research on agriculture and microfinance.
Abdoul-Aziz began his career with IPA in 2016 as a student volunteer in Mali, contributing to a research project aimed at improving access to and quality of malaria care. His research interests include education, poverty and inequality reduction, and evidence-informed public policy.
