Dr. Zina Nimeh is an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Social Protection at Maastricht University and the United Nations University-MERIT. She also serves as a member of UNU-MERIT’s Management Team, overseeing the portfolio for Education and Outreach.
She has over two decades of professional and academic experience in the areas of public policy, social protection policy, public sector reform and governance. Dr Nimeh obtained her PhD in Public Policy and Policy Analysis in 2012 from Maastricht University through a Marie Skłodowska-Curie research talent grant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Xavier University in Ohio, and a master’s degree in Labour and Human Resources from the Ohio State University.
Dr. Nimeh is also highly experienced in teaching and training, with proficiency in curriculum design, instruction, assessment, and professional development in diverse, cross-cultural contexts.
Outside academia, she has had progressive managerial and consulting experience in the areas of social policies and public sector reform with focus on human development, employment, education, and social policy. She has applied experience in high level policy and reform advise on human development and social policy issues (to governments and NGO’s) and continues to be a proactive consultant for civil society and (I) NGO’s.
