Junji Jiang is a Research Fellow at the United Nations University Institute in Macau and a PhD candidate in International Relations at Fudan University. Her research focuses on global AI governance and the evolving roles of the United Nations and other international organizations in governing emerging technologies.
She is particularly interested in how diverse actors—including governments, technology companies, international organizations, research communities, and civil society—interact across multiple governance arenas to shape the development and governance of artificial intelligence.
Her broader research interests include institutional adaptation within the UN system, multistakeholder governance, technology diplomacy, China’s role in shaping global AI governance, and the participation and voice of the Global South in emerging technology governance.
