Hong is a PhD candidate in Communication at Fudan University, and has been a visiting student at the London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Rikkyo University. She has contributed to news reporting at major media outlets including Xinhua News Agency and China Daily, and supported academic-industry exchange and international outreach at the Fudan Institute of Belt and Road & Global Governance. Her research interests span public opinion, AI, and computational communication, with work recognized with the Top Student Paper Award at the International Communication Association's Computational Methods Division.
At UNU Macau, her research focuses on the attention economy in the Chinese context, exploring how the platformization of work and generative AI reshape workers' skills, values, career decisions, and the sustainability of work. Trained in mixed-methods research, she is committed to bridging rigorous empirical inquiry with policy-relevant insights.
