Event overview

WaterCentre@KTH proudly invites you to a seminar with Professor Kaveh Madani, Director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) and recipient of the 2026 Stockholm Water Prize.

Professor Madani was selected for the Stockholm Water Prize for his groundbreaking research and global leadership that have transformed how governments manage water crises. His work has shifted the focus of global water debates from infrastructure to governance, demonstrating how weak governance structures often lie at the heart of severe water crises.

His research has also advanced global understanding of transboundary water issues by developing science-based approaches to conflict resolution and the sustainable management of shared river basins worldwide.

The seminar will be moderated by Professor Zahra Kalantari, Director of WaterCentre@KTH.
