Mathematics for Sustainability is an in-person seminar hosted by Feishu in collaboration with the China–BRICS Artificial Intelligence Development and Cooperation Center, with support from the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH).

The seminar will feature a keynote lecture by Professor Luis Seco focused on the integration of mathematics and sustainable development, highlighting the role of mathematical thinking in addressing global sustainability challenges.

In his keynote lecture  Professor Luis Seco will explore how mathematics guides human interaction with the Earth and with each other—from modeling climate systems and energy networks to designing resilient infrastructure and intelligent technologies. It will also examine how mathematical frameworks help analyze interconnected systems, quantify uncertainty, and design strategies that balance economic growth, social equity, and ecological limits.
