Ms. Saira Erfan is a Research and Outreach Youth Fellow at UNU-INWEH.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of ecological resilience, sustainability, and resource management. She specializes in data visualization, applied statistics, mixed-effects modeling, and GIS, and their applications in ecological data analysis, soil health assessment, and fire ecology.

She collaborates with partners and communities of practice to conduct surveys, collect data, and develop policy recommendations and communication materials. Her work supports UNU-INWEH’s mission and helps raise awareness of pressing environmental challenges.

Ms. Erfan is pursuing a degree in Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Davis, with research experience in plant ecology, soil health, and entomology. She has also contributed to public health initiatives through her work with the California Department of Public Health.
