Dr. Raphael Ayambire is an environmental planner and researcher whose work examines how governance systems produce – or fail to produce – just and effective outcomes for biodiversity and the communities that depend on it.
At UNU-INWEH, Dr. Ayambire’s work focuses on investigating how governance arrangements spanning state, market, and community institutions shape conservation outcomes and the conditions under which more equitable and sustainable relationships between people and environments become possible.
Dr. Ayambire is an Assistant Professor in the Department of City Planning at the University of Manitoba, Canada. He holds a PhD in Planning from the University of Waterloo (Canada) and a BSc in Development Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana).
