Dr. Mohammad Alobaidi specializes in developing scalable AI frameworks and tensor informatics for robust modeling, extreme event analytics, and decision making in natural and built infrastructure systems under uncertainty.

AAt UNU-INWEH, Dr. Alobaidi contributes to the Geospatial, Climate and Infrastructure Program as well as the UNU Sustainability Nexus AID (Analytics, Informatics, and Data) Program. His work integrates artificial intelligence, remote sensing and hydroinformatics to address the disproportionate impact of emerging challenges on different communities. 

He has previosuly worked as a Research Officer at the Aerospace Research Centre at the National Research Council Canada (NRC) and was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Water, Earth, and Environment Research Centre at ETE-INRS and McGill University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

Dr. Alobaidi holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from McGill University, a master’s degree from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) collaborative program, and B.Sc. from the American University of Sharjah.
