A panel of 54 health policy experts recently engaged in a comprehensive discussion regarding Malaysia's forthcoming White Paper on Health. Hosted by UNU-IIGH and the University of Malaya Faculty of Medicine, this event aimed to gather insights and foster consensus on healthcare reform in Malaysia. Over a full day, participants engaged in plenary sessions and smaller roundtable discussions, supported by 10 observers, including Ministry of Health representatives, and 17 individuals handling secretariat duties.
Following the event, extensive records were compiled and summarized by UNU-IIGH, forming a crucial resource for future healthcare reform initiatives. While representing a significant step forward, it's acknowledged that this report may not encompass all views. Further work is needed to garner political, public, and professional support for healthcare reform in Malaysia.
