Eie Clarke is a Nutrition Science student in their last semester of study, starting their career in the population and global health sector, with particular interest in food supply and food advocacy issues for vulnerable communities

Eie have studied at International Medical University on a study abroad mobility program as a New Colombo Plan 2023 Scholar awarded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and interned at Heights and Minds Foundation since moving to Kuala Lumpur in 2023 from Australia.

Utilising their BA Fine Arts and combining it with their BSc Nutrition Science and future plans for post-graduate, they will be completing an internship at UNU-IIGH as part of the communications team, gaining insight in into how research evidence is translated into policy, particularly in areas like gender and health, health governance power and accountability, and health equity. They are excited about the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a unique platform to develop a wide range of skills that are essential for a career in global health communications and policy, with skill development in social media content creation, graphic designing, back-end convening management of in-person and virtual events, website management, post-event statistical analysis and UNU-IIGH research paper formatting with DOI creation.

With an eclectic background in visual arts, secondary education, union advocacy work, vacation nutrition research focused on nutrition and health disparities experienced by the LBGTQIA+ community, experience and childhood and maternal NGO support work, they are keen to adapt their existing experiences and learn new skills in this internship.
