A new publication by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan features the results of a UNU-IAS survey on global trends and policies on carbon neutrality and digitalisation. The publication includes case studies of digital technology solutions to local sustainability challenges across Japan, and incorporates details from an interview with Kelly King (Council Member, Maui County Council) about carbon neutrality in Hawai’i conducted by the Global Environment Outreach Center (GEOC).

The survey is part of a research project Partnership Facilitation and Civil Society Participation towards Realisation of Regional Circular and Ecological Sphere (Local SDGs), conducted from August 2021 to March 2022 with funding from the ministry.

The publication (in Japanese) is available to download on the ministry website.
