Best Practices on Monitoring and Evaluation for Climate Change Adaptation

UNU-IAS hosted a seminar on monitoring and evaluating progress and achieved results of adaptation activities.

Bringing together experts including Youssef Nassef, Director of the Adaptation Programme at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the event shared the latest initiatives from national and local governments, the Japan Accreditation Board, and the private sector.

A discussion session led by Akio Takemoto (Head of Programme and Administration, UNU-IAS) examined the fundamental elements of M&E for climate change adaptation that are necessary and beneficial for organisations. Participants exchanged views on the potential role of international standards to assess progress on collective action towards the Global Goal for Adaptation and Global Stocktake of the Paris Agreement.
