The Tenth Japan Youth Environmental Activity Contest was featured in special print editions of The Yomiuri SDGs and Chukosei newspapers (March 2025). The annual contest aims to empower youth from across Japan to lead the way towards a sustainable society, and is co-organized by UNU-IAS, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency of Japan.
A group of students from Hokkaido Iwamizawa Agricultural High School received the UNU-IAS Director’s Award for their work on transforming local waste into sustainable energy solutions for the agricultural sector.
