A Global Learning Space for Sustainable Development

An article in University World News discusses the global impact of Regional Centres of Expertise (RCEs) on advancing sustainability.

On 17 September 2024, University World News published an article introducing Regional Centres of Expertise (RCEs), a global network of organizations delivering education for sustainable development (ESD) to local and regional communities. The article discusses how the collaborative efforts of RCEs contribute to accelerating SDG progress through linking international policies with local actions.

Miki Konishi (Programme Coordinator, UNU-IAS) provided comments on the global RCEs network, for which UNU-IAS serves as the secretariat.

Excerpt:

RCEs were established to translate words into actions at the local level through multi-stakeholder partnerships. (...) Each RCE on the ground works as a living laboratory. Each is exploring how to identify sustainability issues and work collaboratively.
