Marcin Jarzebski is a Research Fellow and Academic Associate for the Water and Resource Management Programme at UNU-IAS.

He is an environmental scientist by training with a specialization in water protection. He received his PhD in Sustainability Science, working on community resilience in the context of forest management in the Philippines. As a postdoctoral researcher, he has engaged in two major projects: Food Security Impacts of Industrial Crop Expansion in Sub-Sahara Africa (FICESSA), and climate change adaptation capacity development processes in Southeast Asia. He has been actively engaged in organizing many international events (e.g., as an organizing committee member of the International Conference on Sustainability Science). 

Prior to joining UNU, Dr. Jarzebski worked as a Project Assistant Professor at Tokyo College, the University of Tokyo; Project Researcher at the Institute for Future Initiatives (IFI), the University of Tokyo; and a Project Researcher at the Integrated Research System for Sustainability Science (IR3S), the University of Tokyo.
