Time
- Asia/Tokyo
Address
5 Chome-53-70 Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan

From 23 October to 21 November 2025, UNU will host the exhibition "Reverting" by artist Francisco Gonzalez Camacho. The exhibition is organized as part of SEEEU — Europe Photo Month Tokyo.

“Reverting” is based on Francisco’s experience in Reykjavík, Iceland, where he witnessed how issues such as urbanization, waste and environmental degradation — accelerated by mass tourism — challenge the idealized image of the land. In response, he sought new ways of reinterpreting the Icelandic landscape by combining photographs of heavily visited natural sites with his own handmade recycled paper, produced from local waste materials. By layering stereotypical images of the land with the tangible realities embedded in its materials, the project visualizes the cycles of the natural environment, embodying the very notion of “Reverting” — a return, a restoration, a process of going back.

Venue

The exhibition is located on the second floor of the United Nations University Headquarters in Tokyo. Admission is free and open to all. Pre-registration is not required.

Opening hours

Weekdays during 23 October – 21 November 2025, 10:00–17:00.
