As part of the Write. Review. Publish. Webinar Series on Academic Publishing, the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) is organizing the second webinar of the series, dedicated to exploring the types of articles academic journals seek and how authors can effectively frame and position their work for publication.

The guest is Sorin Dan, Associate Editor of Information Polity, and the session will outline several types of articles that authors can write and submit to journals, highlighting their defining characteristics and the approaches needed to structure and frame them. Particular attention will be given to problematization as a technique to strengthen manuscripts and clarify their contribution.

The webinar will also provide an overview of Information Polity, one of the leading journals publishing both academic and practitioner-oriented research at the intersection of public administration, public governance, digital technology, and information science.

Speaker Bio

Sorin Dan (Doctor of Social Sciences, KU Leuven, Belgium, 2015) is Associate Professor of Public Governance (tenure-track) in the School of Management at the University of Vaasa, Finland, where he teaches in Administrative Sciences and conducts research on Public Governance and Digital Transformation. Of Romanian nationality, he is a member of the Public Policy and Governance research group at the University of Vaasa and a Docent of Tampere University in Administrative Studies, especially Public Management Reform and Digitalization.  

Sorin Dan serves as an Associate Editor of Information Polity and as a member of the editorial boards of the European Management Journal and Public Performance & Management Review.  

He co-chairs the special interest group on Agile and Digital Transformation of the Public Sector and the panel on Public Sector Reforms in Comparative Perspective at the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) annual conference.
