Moinul Zaber is a Senior Academic Fellow at the United Nations University (UNU-EGOV) since 2019.
He is a computational social scientist focusing on AI, Machine learning, and Data science for technology policy. Dr. Zaber has 16 years of experience conducting research focusing on computational science. He received is Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Dr. Zaber has been an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, visiting Associate Professor at CSIS, Tokyo University, Tokyo. a Research Fellow at the Economics and Management Department of Chalmers University, Sweden, and LIRNEasia, Sri Lanka.
His research ranges from spectrum valuation, public protection and disaster response systems, usable privacy & security, blockchain for e-id , modeling urban habitat, electricity use and quality, people’s movement, traffic pattern, air pollution, future traffic challenge, conversational agents for low resource languages, using generative models for policy modeling, AI safety and awareness policy formulation. Moinul is one of the editorial board members of Elsevier’s Telecommunications policy journal.
He has published in various international peer-reviewed journals, taught at various governmental and non-governmental institutions, and regularly gives invited talks at major conferences on AI, ICT, Telecom, and regulation.
