Alice Eckstein and Nesrien Hamid of our Delta 8.7 team wrote for the Council on Foreign Relations' Women Around the World series on lessons learned about addressing child labour during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent global estimates project child labour to be on the rise, with cases surging by up to 50 million in the next five years. The short- and long-term impacts of the pandemic (school closures, economic crisis, diminished social services) have combined to increase the likelihood of child labour as well as the difficulty of addressing it, they write.
