Call for Applications: Global Leadership Training Programme in Africa

UNU-IAS is accepting applications until 30 June 2021 for the six-week online training “Global Leadership and Sustainable Development in Africa”.

Since 2013, the UNU Institute for the Advanced ed Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) has implemented the Global Leadership Training Programme (GLTP) with generous support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. The main objective of the programme is to train future global leaders who can contribute to solving various challenges toward the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Africa. Starting in 2021, GLTP is featuring a new collaboration with New York University.

UNU-IAS is accepting applications until 30 June 2021 for the six-week online training programme “Global Leadership and Sustainable Development in Africa”.

This online programme includes keynote lectures, workshops, resource sharing, and participatory activities prepared by African scholars and practitioners in a wide range of fields (e.g. health, education, environmental studies, human rights, law, technology, government, and civil society) from across the continent. The use of online teaching and networking modalities will help participants engage with African leaders to discuss their leadership and development practices. This programme is designed for participants to develop skills and strategies needed to strengthen the capacity and resilience of community and civil society, build and enhance human rights, and contribute to environmentally sustainable development across Africa targeting to achieve SDGs.

Participants who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a certificate. Postgraduate students who are enrolled in Japanese universities and interested in international cooperation and SDGs in Africa are highly encouraged to apply.
