Ahmad Mohd Khalid is a researcher with a focus on sustainability and development issues in developing countries.

Dr. Khalid's PhD thesis proposed a practical approach to facilitate measurement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the sub-national level in India in the form of an SDG Index. His current work involves implementation issues related to national and local climate action and governance structures.

Before joining UNU-IAS, Dr. Khalid served as an academic counsellor in the area of sustainability science with a leading university in India. He also worked as a research associate with a German think tank adelphi in their New Delhi office for over two years, conducting research, data analysis, and project management in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
