Science4Peace Slam 2026
We are looking for researchers who'd like to present their work beyond the academic sphere through engaging talks, thought-provoking insights, and ideas that resonate beyond the research community.
What it is all about
Do you enjoy communicating your research to broader audiences? Are you interested in the challenge of presenting your work in an engaging and accessible way? Does your research contribute to advancing peace, sustainability, social justice, climate action, or other issues of global importance?
We invite researchers from all disciplines to present their work at the Science4Peace Slam 2026, taking place in Dresden's Frauenkirche. The event provides a unique platform to showcase research, foster dialogue between science and society, and explore the connections between scientific knowledge and pathways towards peace.
Take the Stage with Your Research
Apply to participate as a Science4Peace Slam presenter on 12 November 2026.
Each presenter will have ten minutes to engage the audience with their research, ideas, and discoveries. Participants are encouraged to communicate complex scientific concepts in a clear, creative, and accessible manner, demonstrating the value and relevance of their work to wider society.
The event offers an opportunity to connect with a diverse audience, exchange perspectives, and contribute to a broader conversation on the role of science in addressing contemporary challenges.
Why Frauenkirche ?
With its rich history and symbolism, Dresden's Frauenkirche provides a unique setting for dialogue on the relationship between science and peace. The reconstruction of the Frauenkirche itself stands as a testament to the contributions of scientific knowledge and expertise across multiple disciplines. Located at the heart of Dresden's research landscape, the Science4Peace Slam seeks to highlight the important role of science in promoting understanding, cooperation, and peaceful societies.
The event is jointly organised by the Dresden Frauenkirche Foundation, the Technische Sammlungen Dresden, United Nations University (UNU Resource Nexus), and Science&Stories.
Important Information
- Applications to participate as a presenter are open until 12 September 2026.
- The event will take place on 12 November 2026 at 19:30 in the main hall of the Frauenkirche in Dresden.
- Applications from researchers across all disciplines are welcome.
- Travel and accommodation costs for selected participants will be covered.
